INS RUGGEDIZED POWER METER AND LIGHT SOURCE

INS Ruggedized loss test sets are designed to withstand outdoor field environments where traditional handheld units are not appropriate. Units are available for both multimode and singlemode applications and run on re-chargeable NiCd batteries. Please specify ST or FC adapter style when ordering any INS Ruggedized Test Equipment.

The Power Meter has an easy to read LCD display and germanium detector incorporating three wavelength (850nm, 1300nm, 1550nm) measurement capability. The Light Source is a dual wavelength source with a continuous wave or 2KHz modulation. The 850nm and 1300nm light source are for multimode applications. The 1310nm and 1550nm Light Source are for singlemode applications.

INS FIBER OPTIC TALK SET

The INS Fiber Optic Talk Set units are designed for transmitting voice in both directions on a single fiber using two different wavelengths, 850/1300nm for the Multimode unit and 1310/1550nm for Singlemode. Units include adjustments for power and sensitivity. The built in VOX (sensitivity) circuit is meant to conserve battery power when the operator is not speaking.

In addition the unit also comes with a rechargeable 9V 540mAh battery and a charging port for in-unit charging. The Talk Set comes standard with SC or FC adapter ports. The loss budget for our Multimode set is 15dB; the Singlemode set is 20dB. Finally, each Talk Set comes equipped with a stereo headset with boom microphone, providing comfort for long-term use and high performance.

The INS E-Series Fiber Ranger is a portable, hand-held fault finder. It adopts OTDR technology to detect the location of reflective faults with just the touch of one button fast and accurately. Uses 1550nm wavelength, and equipped with a VFL for continuity troubleshooting. Dynamic Range 20dB, Detects up to 4 events within approximately 60km.
